Spinal Anesthesia – This type of anesthesia is suitable for c-sections, prostate procedures and total knee and hip replacements and many more procedures.  After cleaning and numbing the skin in the lower back area the anesthesiologist administers a small amount of numbing medicine into the fluid surrounding the spine.  This results in complete loss of sensation from waist or mid torso down allowing surgical procedures to be done in these areas with no sensation of pain.
