Femoral BlockIn this block the anesthesiologist cleans the skin in the groin area.  Using a nerve stimulator the femoral nerve is then identified as it crosses into the upper thigh.  This nerve is blocked to provide pain control for procedures of the lower extremity frequently those involving the knee.
